My journey to Costa Rica actually began 2.5 years ago with the Bible verse Matthew 10:39. Let me take you back...
I was a senior in high school and the search for the right college had begun. I had my heart set on Northwestern College, in MN. I knew it was close to home and being a homebody it seemed like the perfect fit. However, my father and heavenly Father had different opinions. My dad mentioned Trinity International University and eventually persuaded me to attend the Sneak Preview. We visited, and I loved it. This scared me because I had no desire to attend a college 8 hours away, and in Illinois of all places!
The next weekend I visited Northwestern College with my mom. I prayed and waited for that same confirming feeling about it being the right college, but it never came. Later that week I was having devotions and read Matthew 10:39 "If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it." NLT
I remember praying, "Yep, I am clinging here Lord. I do not want to go to Trinity, but I do trust that you know the plans you have for my life. I am willing to trust you and find my life by losing it."
God blessed me with tremendous opportunities at Trinity, along with some of the best friends a girl could ask for. Approximately one year later I took the next step and answered His call to apply to student teach overseas, which opened the door to Costa Rica.
Release: the Spanish equivalent is Liberación. God has been teaching me how to release many things in the past two years. He showed me how to release my fears of the unknown by trusting the One who does know. He showed me how to release the pressures I place upon myself by turning to Him, as the giver of strength. And He reminded me that I have been released-liberated from the devil's grip. He has overcome this great darkness, which not only means I am His, but that I am blessed to live in His glorious light.
Liberación- May you join me on this journey of release, as I travel to Costa Rica and boldly shine the light of Christ for all to see.
- I am looking forward to blogging my adventures, along with the highlights and trials I encounter. As a member of the Osborn clan I have become accustomed to experiencing and embracing "Osborn Opportunities" so stay tuned :)
